Over the past twenty years, Tasha Richard has established herself as a leader in strategic development, marketing strategy, and the creation of inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems. She has helped build and grow renowned brands, successfully launching dozens of products into the Canadian market.
Throughout her career, Tasha has led the planning and execution of numerous integrated strategic brand initiatives for leading organizations, including Nike, Bell Canada, Johnson & Johnson, Right To Play, and Coca-Cola. Her extensive expertise has also made her a trusted advisor in the development of strategic and business plans for organizations across a wide range of industries.
Tasha holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Management from Saint Mary's University. She is also a Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Agriculture at Dalhousie University. Her research focuses on the intersection of entrepreneurship policy, gender, and education. She was recently awarded a Belong Grant to explore Indigenous ways of understanding entrepreneurship through a gender-informed lens, as well as a Mitacs grant to examine the role of technology in public school food programs addressing food security.
