Viana Poulin is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Management at HEC Montréal and the coordinator of the personalized coaching program offered to MBA students. She brings extensive leadership experience across a variety of management roles, enabling her to develop deep expertise in both the operational and human dimensions of leadership while championing innovation and interpersonal excellence. She is also recognized for her strategic vision and strong leadership.
Viana holds a Graduate Diploma in Management Consulting and an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She built her career in the telecommunications industry, where she spent more than 25 years in progressively senior leadership positions, culminating in a senior executive role at Bell Canada. There, she led large teams, spearheaded organizational transformation initiatives, and supported employee development through coaching and leadership mentoring.
Throughout her career, Viana has held both operational and functional leadership roles, contributing to major projects across a wide range of business areas. She played a key role in an initiative to enhance and recognize the leadership competencies of more than 650 managers, and collaborated on several action research projects in partnership with universities.
For several years, she also served as an internal consultant within Bell, primarily in the Human Resources function, where she developed expertise in employee retention, engagement, and organizational commitment. She has a strong interest in the evolving role of managers and the continuous development of effective leadership practices.
Passionate about coaching research and an experienced management professional, Viana brings a practical, real-world perspective to leadership development, helping organizations and leaders translate strategy into meaningful action.
